This pattern makes pairs of HSTs, so you could choose 6 different scraps and turn the extras into a second block!

This is a traditionally pieced block, made using colors to celebrate Flag Day and July 4th!
The finished bed-sized quilt will be donated to the Quilts of Valor Foundation and gifted to a US Service Member or Veteran. Please make multiple blocks if you are able!

use SOLID WHITE (where the pattern calls for light gray)

This traditionally-pieced block uses an alternate gridwork technique.

use DARK GREEN (instead of dark teal)
use ANY FLOWER COLOR (instead of white)

- It doesn’t list how many 2-1/2” x 7-1/2” rectangles to cut — you need to cut 4.
-In step one, she asks you to make 12 dark green+flower color units — you only need 8 and you only cut for 8. (It’s 12 total if you include the light and dark green.)

This uniquely pieced block involves folding and sewing along the fold!
For the LIGHT FABRIC: use WHITE (solid white or white-on-white patterned)
for the DARK FABRIC: use RED (solid or patterned)
ASSEMBLY TIPS:
Read all the words and look at all the diagrams before you begin assembling the block.
When trimming, line-up the diagonal marking on your ruler with the center diagonal fold.
Bonus: this pattern has you cut enough fabric for 2 blocks!

WISHES FOR UKRAINIAN PEACE by Members of the CDMQG
April's BOM was designed specially for the CDMQG's donation to Ukrainian relief efforts.
Using the kits we’ve provided, please make either:
* a foundation paper pieced dove block or
* a traditionally pieced sunflower block.
It is a 10" block, so your finished piecing should be 10.5" square.
Be sure to follow the directions that correspond to your kit.
(Even if you did not receive a fabric kit, you can still contribute a block for second quilt!)

We will use NAVY BLUE as a featured color to unite all of our blocks.
(Use any navy fabric, from any fabric line, for any part of the block you choose. We simply want to ensure that navy appears somewhere in the block to unify all of them in the finished quilt. You may even use patterned fabric if you'd like! It will be interesting to see how the blocks come together!)
